The Harry Kay Stellar Observatory

One of the more sophisticated educational observatories in Israel, Technoda’s stellar observatory is the gift of the Harry Kay Foundation and the Jewish Federation of Minneapolis. Open to Technoda’s students during weekdays, it is also available to the general public on Sunday evenings, when popular talks are given by either the Observatory director or other speakers from Israel and abroad.

At the heart of the Observatory is a 16” telescope with an advanced automatic system that recognizes and tracks thousands of stars and celestial bodies, and also houses five smaller telescopes, two of which are so equipped that students can even study the sun.

Thanks to the Harry Kay Observatory, Technoda has launched an extensive astronomy education program for children of all ages, which has already evoked an impressive response. Little wonder that in less than two years, astronomy has become one of Technoda's most popular offerings.
