To make sure that small children from Givat Olga get at least one hot meal a day, have a quiet corner in which to do homework, and get the supplementary tuition they may need, Technoda launched its singularly successful Day Boarding program. The overwhelming majority of participants come from underserved homes or are recent immigrants to Israel.
Currently, the program serves some 250 children. Referred by their schools, they spend four afternoons a week at Technoda, even during their summer vacation.
Devised for children of average academic ability, this program works to motivate them children to learn and advance – following a hot lunch. For many, the program is a first step on the path out of the poverty and dependence into which they were born.
